About Me
My Story
They say every tale has a beginning, a middle, and an end…
My personal journey towards improved health and well-being began in my late 20s with a desire to become fitter and look and feel better.
I began participating in ultra-marathons both domestically and internationally, achieving successful results with some podium finishes. I trained in various locations, including my home country, Spain, Cyprus, and France, seeking new experiences and exposure to diverse terrains.
During a period of injury, I incorporated strength and conditioning exercises and cycling into my routine. I discovered a love for training and the positive physical sensations that come with becoming stronger and fitter. This eventually led me to become a fitness instructor alongside my full-time managerial job in the public sector in Scotland.
Despite achieving improved fitness, stamina, and strength, I realised that certain aspects of my health and well-being had been neglected and required attention. My relationship with food, heavily influenced by advertising and social media, wasn’t always healthy and often resulted in a negative self-image. Additionally, I faced gastrointestinal issues related to stress, emotional well-being, and intolerances.
Observing others’ struggles with self-image, eating habits, and lifestyle, I felt a deep desire to learn more about holistic health and well-being. I aimed to share this knowledge to assist others in their journey toward improved health and well-being, both physically and emotionally.
The distinction between knowing what we should eat and what we shouldn’t is becoming increasingly complex and blurred. Misconceptions about “healthy” food permeate Western society, contributing to issues such as ill-health, obesity, poor immunity, and unhappiness.
Modern society serves as a catalyst for stress, disrupted sleep, the development of unhealthy eating habits, and disease. Now, more than ever, it is crucial to understand the importance of self-care and well-being.
My honours degree in Psychology/Sociology, qualification in Counselling, fitness instruction, and Health Coaching have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to assist others in achieving greater health, well-being, and happiness.
My own journey doesn’t end here; I am passionate about expanding my knowledge and sharing it with others to support their journeys towards improved health, well-being, and happiness.
I hope I can bring some of you along on this journey.
My Approach
I offer 6-8 face-to-face or virtual sessions on a weekly or fortnightly basis taking a structured, supported approach using effective methods to identify barriers to happiness and better health and well-being. Sessions are confidential, non-judgemental and a safe space to work through things in a measured, timely way.
Group sessions are also available to generate discussion and learning on the common problems of modern life such as stress, disease, weight management, lack of sleep, food, the menopause, exercise and relationships.
My Mission
My mission is to take you on your own journey to achieve maximum health and happiness. To understand yourself better and adopt long-term changes in self-care that will have a positive impact on every area of your life.
We often want to make changes in our lives but feel stuck, fear holds us back and we frequently use mechanisms to keep us in the same old patterns.
Using tried and tested techniques I can help you break those patterns of behaviour that are no longer serving you and develop a plan for change.
